Steve Breuer Conference Center Camp Hess Kramer Gindling Hilltop Camp
Camp Hess Kramer

Camp Hess Kramer is nestled in a rustic canyon lined with old oak, sycamore and eucalyptus trees. A walk from the cabins to the program and dining area follows a shaded creek, providing an atmosphere secluded from the outside world. Accommodations are available for up to 250 people in our all-weather sleeping quarters. With a full range of programmatic options, it is recognized as one of the finest facilities available for conducting outdoor education programs. Camp Hess Kramer can also be rented in conjunction with the Steve Breuer Conference Center, providing a variety of housing alternatives for your participants.

Camp Hess Kramer is accessed at gate #2 on Yerba Buena Road. The camp is very long and narrow, please take this into consideration when planning your agenda. It takes approximately 10 minutes to walk from the cabin area to the main program areas and dining hall. We do have beach access under Pacific Coast Highway via our creek underpass.

Total Capacity: 325 people

Outdoor Chapel: A beautiful outdoor chapel with seating for 325 people is located very close to the cabins and an eight-minute walk from main program area and dining hall. A large stage with podium and stained glass ark overlooks the wooden benches. Electricity is available, three spotlights light up the area at night.

Baruh Hall: A 37’ wide x 61’ long hall with a 36’ x 19’ stage on one end of the hall and a fireplace on the other. Occupancy levels are approximately 250 people when utilizing folding chairs, 300 when sitting on the floor. Spot lights, movie screen and a built in microphone system are available for the stage. This hall is located in the middle of our camp, five minutes from cabins and main area.

Amphitheater: An outdoor theater with capacity for up to 500 people is located directly behind Baruh Hall. A large 33’ x 19’ stage stands in the front with spotlighting and microphone system available.

Dining Hall: An 80’ long x 50’ wide hall is mainly used for dining. Can be separated by partitions, and can be used for several different purposes for example, dancing, meetings, programs, etc.

Breakout Group Space: A small room located by the pavilion area, below the camp office. Also has a fireplace and seating for 40 people.

Arts & Crafts Area: An outdoor area for doing art projects. It includes six long tables with seating for about 30 people and a large cold water sink, and can also be used as a programming space.

Outdoor Picnic Area: Located on Breuer Lawn next to our small creek that flows through our property. We have 12 picnic tables under a large shade tree. Great for a barbecue lunches, breakout groups or just to relax.

Gildred Hall: Camp groups can utilize this hall when there is not a group in the conference center. Please see the Steve Breuer Conference Center descriptions.

Fire Pit: A Campfire area nestled in the canyon beyond the cabins. About a 10 minute walk from Dining Hall, it seats about 300 people and has a stage area for talent shows and we have electricity and light there if needed.

Dance Stage or Outdoor Space: This is a 20’ x 20’ space that can be covered and used for a variety of activities

Internet: For your convenience there is wireless High Speed Internet located in the Office in the Pavilion Area.

Programming and Recreation Areas: An athletic field (Breuer Lawn), a soccer & softball field (Fitch Field), three tennis courts, basketball courts, gaga pit, dance stage and a golf area (including putting green, sand trap for chipping and driving cages) are all available for programming. Rabbi Alfred Wolf Inspiration Point has a great view of the ocean from the hillside overlooking Pacific Coast Highway. Our one camp hiking trail takes you up the fire trail to Gindling Hilltop Camp and back down via the inter-camp road. Additionally, there is easy, safe access to the beach via a trail under Pacific Coast Highway that begins next to the golf and tennis area.

Steve Breuer Conference Center

The Steve Breuer Conference Center is a beautiful structure with individual rooms and a two-story lounge/meeting/dining facility. Resting atop a gentle hill that overlooks a lush, tree-shaded valley, the SBCC is minutes north of Los Angeles in sunny Malibu, California. Available for any length of stay, our modern conference facility comfortably serves up to 64 guests in quiet, private, fabuloucoast country style. Plush carpets, firm beds, soothing décor, and a warm tub that's guaranteed to soak your weariness away will help make your visit memorable. The twenty- four room facility is accessed through Gate #2 on Yerba Buena Road. Heating and air conditioning is available in all rooms and lobbies.

Total Capacity: 48 people (Ancillary housing available for groups up to 65 people)

Upper Lobby: The small 25’ wide x 18’ long space is located just inside the front doors of the conference center. Four (card-table size) tables with four chairs each are available. With a group of less than 30 people, this area can be used for dining.

Lower Lobby: A 25’ wide x 28’ long room. Located on the first floor of the conference center is an intimate room with a fireplace and large screen television. Large sofas and chairs furnish the room and can seat approximately 30 people for more relaxed meetings. Due to the acoustics in relation to the upper lobby, having two meetings going on at the same time is not recommended.

Gildred Hall: A large 33’ wide x 60’ long meeting room. This room has an occupancy level of 150 people with a pull-down movie screen and a large fireplace. There is heating and ceiling fans provide air movement. Seating and table arrangements can be done in any fashion. We have 110 chairs for this room and a microphone system, piano & podium can be set-up.

Internet: For your convenience there is High Speed Internet located in each of the Conference Center Rooms, which you have to plug a blue cord into your computer.

Gindling Hilltop Camp

Gindling Hilltop Camp is set 750 feet above sea level on a coastal mountaintop. The panoramic views of the Pacific Coast on one side and the surrounding hills and canyons on the other are breathtaking and provide an environment like no other. The Camp has 14 cabins and accommodates 180 people. All facilities are close to one another, creating an intimate setting isolated from the distractions of city life.

Gindling Hilltop Camp is accessed from Gate #4 on Yerba Buena Road. GHC provides panoramic views of the coast and an intimate camping environment. The narrow road to the camp is fully paved and is about a 15 minute drive from the turn off at Gate #4 and Yerba Buena Road.

Outdoor Chapel: A spectacular outdoor facility overlooking the Pacific Ocean seats 180 people and is about a five-minute walk from the main program area.

Recreation Room: A 20’ x 25’ general-purpose room located behind the swimming pool.

Amphitheater: A 200 person outdoor theater located in the center of camp with a small 15’ x 10’ stage in the front.

Lodge: A small meeting area located in the rooms of the 30’s, seating for about 20 people. Great for breakout groups or after hours group leader meetings.

Arts & Crafts Area: A small outdoor area for doing art projects. It includes six long tables with seating for about 30 people & a large cold water sink.

Fire Pit: A nice campfire area located behind cabins 1 and 2. It has an awesome view that overlooks the ocean. Also contains a small stage area for talent shows and such. There is electricity and light if needed.

Recreation and Progamming Areas: A small athletic field for soccer, two basketballs courts, and gaga pit all exist for programming.
