What to Know

Absolutely. Our campers come from a wide range of Jewish backgrounds, day schools, religious schools, interfaith families, and families new to Jewish practice. The beauty of camp is that everyone feels at home, and we believe that everyone has something to teach and everyone has something to learn. Living Jewishly here happens naturally through songs, rituals, and shared experiences that make Judaism joyful, accessible, and real.

Most campers join us from the greater Los Angeles area, but many travel from San Diego, Orange County, Arizona, Las Vegas, Northern California, and beyond. Together, they represent more than 65 congregations across North America, a living example of community in motion.

Homesickness, or even moments of sadness, are normal, and our staff are trained to handle it with warmth and patience. We focus on helping campers feel comfortable from the moment they arrive, starting with where they sleep and eat, and building up from there. Counselors listen, encourage participation, and create moments of joy that quickly turn uncertainty into confidence. It doesn’t take long before camp feels like home.

We know how much parents miss their campers, but part of the magic of camp is independence. To help kids grow confidence and self reliance, we don’t allow phone calls. Instead, we encourage families to stay in touch through letters and to reach out to our staff anytime they’d like an update. We’re always happy to check in and share how your camper is doing.

Meals are served Kosher style, meaning we don’t serve pork or shellfish, and we don’t mix meat and dairy. We always provide vegetarian and lactose free options, and our menus rotate favorites like pizza, BBQ, grilled cheese, and Hawaiian chicken. Food is served buffet style and with all the variety offered at each meal, there is something for everyone. Meals are communal, lively, and designed to make everyone feel included.

Yes! Our specialty programs, Kef B’Yahmand and Yahm Scuba, are perfect for campers who want extra time in the ocean. These eight-day intensives combine focused morning instruction with the full camp experience in the afternoons and evenings.

Yes. Need based financial aid is available through a separate application, and we partner with parents, synagogues, federations, and other organizations to help make camp possible for every family. Campers never know who receives assistance, it’s simply part of our inclusive community. To apply, indicate your interest on the registration form.

We’d love that. We host Open House tours throughout the year, where families can explore the site, meet staff, and experience a taste of the magic that awaits.

If a two or three-week session feels too long, our Yahm Surf and Kef B’Yahm specialty sessions are a great introduction. These eight-day programs combine adventure and community, an ideal way to experience the best of camp in a shorter stay. We also offer a one-week session for campers in Grades 2 and 3.

• You can cancel for any reason by March 31st, and receive a full refund.   
• For cancellations between April 1st and April 30th, we will retain your deposit of $350, and you can get a refund of the balance paid.  The $350 will be held as a credit toward camp fees the following summer only.  If not used for that purpose, it is forfeited as a withdrawal fee.
• For cancellations between May 1st and May 31st, we will retain $500, and you can get a refund of the balance paid.  The $500 will be held as a credit toward camp fees the following summer only.  If not used for that purpose, it is forfeited as a withdrawal fee.
• If you cancel June 1st or later, you are responsible for the full session fee.  It will be held as a credit toward camp fees the following summer only.  If not used for that purpose, it is forfeited as a withdrawal fee.

Exceptions are made for medical or financial aid reasons. Refunds are issued in the original form of payment.

Our Health Center is staffed by medical professionals. Over-the-counter medications are on hand, and prescription medications are managed through WellspringRX, which prepackages and ships them directly to camp.
If your physician is not licensed in California, please complete the Medication Administration Form in your CampMinder account so our team can properly administer medications.
