Independence & Identity

Teens arrive at camp ready for more challenge, more choice, and more identity-shaping experiences. This session is fueled by the freedom to soar within a community that lifts them up.

It’s where teens find their voice, their people, and their place in camp life.

Growing Together

Many campers return year after year, excited to reconnect while welcoming new campers with ease. Cabin groups feel like instant micro-communities, supportive, social, and grounded by staff who understand the unique needs of teens. Counselors, CITs, and specialists act as mentors who listen, guide, and model confidence and character.

Meeting Them Where They Are

What Their Days Might Look Like

Teen campers crave variety, challenge, and choice, so their schedule delivers exactly that. They participate in campwide sports, arts, and adventure blocks and also pursue deeper skill-building through intensives and electives that feel aligned with their interests.

Rotations That Open Up Options

Campers try broad programming in sports, arts, aquatics, adventure, music, outdoor skills, and more.

Deep-Dive Intensives

These blocks offer a deeper dive into passions like performing arts, athletics, creative fields, or leadership.

Electives with Real Choice

Elective (chugim) periods give campers a say in shaping their day and exploring personal interests.

Collaborative Projects

These experiences bring teens together across cabins to create, problem-solve, and lead together.

Thinkers & Leaders

For teens, camp becomes less about “trying it” and more about “owning it.” They make real choices about how they spend their time, how they show up for friends, and what kind of teammate, leader, and human they want to be. Staff give them room to experiment and space to speak up, stepping in with guidance only when needed.

Energized Evenings

Evening programs are where camp really comes alive. One night might be all-out competitions, night games, high-energy themed events, or creative performances. The next might be a circle focused on leadership, identity, self-esteem, Jewish values, or intentional cabin time that helps teens open up, feel seen, and close the night feeling more connected than when the day began.

Spirited Shabbat

Shabbat remains the heartbeat of the week, but it takes on a new dimension for this age group. Teens experience Tefilah, song session, and Israeli dancing with full-volume energy, but also savor the slower pace and reflective moments of Saturday. Cabin-led activities, Torah reading, and shared discussions help teens connect Jewish tradition to the real questions and values they’re shaping for themselves.

What They Love Most

  • More independence and choice in their day
  • Intensives that help them grow in areas they care about
  • A social environment that feels inclusive and real
  • Mentorship from counselors and CITs
  • Evening programs that mix depth with fun
  • A Shabbat experience that feels both joyful and grounding

Developmental Note to Families

As part of our developmental philosophy, we recognize that entering 7th graders vary widely in readiness. If you feel your child may benefit from the younger session’s pace and structure, our camp directors are happy to talk through the best fit.
