Yahm Surf

Surf in the morning, camp in the afternoon.

Yahm Surf is made for campers who light up at the sight of the ocean. Mornings are spent at surf school with SoCal Surf Lessons, just a short ride from camp. Afternoons are back on site, where they join the rest of camp for electives, free time, and all the big community moments.

Morning Surf Sessions

Campers head to the beach with experienced instructors, learning how to paddle out, catch waves, and read the ocean.

Skill Levels for Everyone

Whether it is a first time on a board or a chance to improve existing skills, coaching is matched to each camper’s level so they can progress and feel proud.

Back to Camp for More Fun

After lunch, campers jump into classic camp activities, cabin time, and evening programs with the full community.

Shabbat Together

On Shabbat, everyone is together at camp, celebrating with song, dance, rest, and joy.

Why We Partner With SoCal Surf Lessons

Trusted experts: A long-running local surf school that is licensed, bonded, and insured.
Great teaching waves: They choose the friendliest breaks in Carlsbad, ideal for learning safely and successfully.
Real wave riding: When conditions allow, campers are taught to ride the face of the wave, not just the whitewash near shore.
Top equipment: Wetsuits and surfboards are selected to support comfort, safety, and confidence in the water.

A Week of ocean adventure

Kef B’Yahm is our ocean-themed specialty camp for campers who want to snorkel, paddle, explore, and learn about the sea in creative ways. Each day offers a new way to experience the water and the coastline around Carlsbad.

Kayaking the Coast

Aquarium Visits

Exploring world-class aquariums and discovering more about the creatures that live under the sea.

Sea Scavenger Hunts

Working in groups to follow clues, spot details along the beach, and solve ocean-themed challenges.

Underwater Photography

Experimenting with photos in and around the water, capturing the color and movement of marine life.

Shabbat by the Sea

At the end of this full, high-energy week, the community takes time to slow down. Shabbat includes:
