Rising 10th graders at Camp Hess Kramer and Gindling Hilltop Camp have the opportunity to participate in the Leadership and Mitzvah Programs, respectively. The Leadership and Mitzvah Programs have been the capstones of a Wilshire Boulevard Temple camper’s career for over 50 years. Beyond setting an example as the oldest kids at camp, Leadership and Mitzvah campers engage in thought-provoking and community building programs centered around social action and making a difference in the world. These programs also feature a 3-day hike through the Santa Monica Mountains during which campers bond with one another and grow more comfortable and open with their own identities. Over 400 alumni gather at camp every summer to commemorate their Leadership/Mitzvah experiences and celebrate the lifelong relationships they built. From the moment our youngest campers hop off the yellow bus for the first time, they #cantwait until they get to wear their Leadership/Mitzvah sweatshirt and have the best summer of their lives!
