Specialty Camp Programs

Yahm Surf

Campers will spend mornings at surf school provided by SoCal Surf Lessons, just two miles down the beach from camp (campers will be driven to and from their lessons). They will return to camp for lunch and then spend their afternoons integrated into the rest of camp, choosing electives, enjoying free choice and participating in our evening programming. On Shabbat, campers will spend the day at camp with the rest of the camp community. Campers only need to bring towels, bathing suits and a water bottle.  Wetsuits and boards provided by SoCal Surf Lessons.

Why SoCal Surf?

  • The only surf school in Carlsbad that’s Licensed, Bonded, Insured. 18 years in business
  • The best instructors and the most friendly wave in San Diego!
  • They teach to each person’s skill level.
  • They don’t teach you on the whitewash (unless conditions favor it), they teach you how to ride the face of the wave.
  • They provide top-of-the-line wetsuits and surfboards.

Kef B'Yahm

This summer, join us for a brand new unforgettable ocean-inspired specialty camp. From snorkeling to boogie boarding the waves, exploring world-class aquariums, kayaking along the San Diego coast, and embarking on sea scavenger hunts, each day is packed with fun, discovery, and connection to the ocean. We will even get a chance to try underwater photography, capturing the magic of marine life up close. Campers will spend the week building confidence in the water, learning more about the ocean, and creating lasting friendships—all while making memories under the Carlsbad sun. With hands-on adventures that spark curiosity and confidence, this camp is perfect for curious explorers, wave-riders, and ocean-lovers alike!

And for Shabbat we’ll also take time to pause and celebrate Shabbat together, bringing in the joy of song, and Israeli Dance, reflection, and community at the end of an adventure-filled week. With hands-on experiences that spark curiosity and connection—both to the ocean and to Jewish tradition—this camp is perfect for curious explorers, wave-riders, and ocean-lovers alike!
