Why Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps?
Our goal for your child is that they come to camp and immediately feel a part of a family, that they feel comfortable and safe to explore new activities, that they learn what it looks like and means to be a responsible member of a Jewish community. Our campers develop personal identity, build self-esteem and learn about Judaism, all while having fun, and making friendships for life! For over 70 years, we have been changing the world, one child and one summer at a time. Be a part of that change for summer 2024 and beyond!
Our Mission
The mission of Wilshire Boulevard Temple Camps is to develop and deepen personal Jewish identities, to create sacred spaces and to enable all who come, to experience community, growth, friendship and joy and further their understanding of their place and purpose in the world.
3rd-7th Grade Programs*
We pride ourselves on our close-knit community and our ability to provide the time of your life!
Our specific session for elementary-aged children ensures that our youngest campers are introduced to our program and tradition in an age appropriate way and with a special focus for those just beginning their camp experience. We help campers to build close relationships with their cabin mates and other campers, and they come to know our CITs, staff and administration as mentors, coaches and the strongest support system possible on their camping journey. Our campers experience what it truly means to be part of something extraordinary.
Campers in our 3rd-7th grade program will benefit from a combination of introductory activities to camp as well as cabin rotations and electives (chugim). Our goal is for campers to get to try everything at least once while also building mastery in several activity areas. Evening activities are high energy, filled with running, laughter and just the right amount of goofy!
Shabbat is one of the most exciting parts of the week. Friday night begins the Shabbat experience through all-camp T'filah, a special dinner meal, an energy-filled song session, and then the entire camp in one place participating in Israeli dancing. The rest of Shabbat captures the essence of the day with services, reading from the Torah, and special cabin activities, chosen by the campers. All week long, campers and staff alike eagerly anticipate Shabbat—a day filled with ruach, friendship, time, and space.
7th-10th Grade Programs*
Our teen session has an energy and spirit unlike any other! Many of our campers have been to camp before and are excited to maintain old friendships while building new ones. There is always room for the new camper, as our community understands deeply what it means to be welcoming, loving and inclusive of others.
Campers will have the opportunity to participate in all activities offered through our arts and sports rotations, and they will get to hone their skills and develop new ones during their intensives as well as their elective periods. Evening programs are a combination of fun, silly activities that allow kids to just be kids and activities designed to help our teens feel more support as they move through the world. Areas of focus for those programs include leadership development, self esteem, Jewish connection and building sacred spaces.
As our older campers continue to grow into independent people and thinkers, we give them a space to ask questions, to seek support, and to find meaningful friendship with people who accept them just as they are. We help campers to build close relationships with their cabin mates and other campers, and they come to know our CITs, staff and administration as mentors, coaches and the strongest support system possible on their camping journey. Our campers experience what it truly means to be part of something extraordinary.

*As part of our developmental philosophy, we understand that, for entering 7th graders, there can be a wide range of maturation. Some are well-suited for our younger session and may opt to come for two weeks, while others may be a better fit for our teen session, where they can attend for the full 22-day session.
