Traveling to the Army and Navy Academy is easy! You can drive, take the train, or, if you’re flying in, connect with one of our Directors to learn which airport works best.
International staff should coordinate flights through their placement agency. Once your travel is set, a director will reach out with details about transportation from the airport to camp.

Read it carefully and reach out to the Director who hired you if you have questions or notice any errors.

Your hiring Director is your best contact. If they don’t have the answer directly, they’ll connect you with the right person.

Know someone perfect for camp? Encourage them to apply and list you as their referral! Returning staff members receive a bonus when their referral is hired and completes the full summer contract.

Yes. Staff Week is essential. It’s when we train, bond, and build the community that makes camp great. Attendance is mandatory unless you’ve discussed an approved exception due to school with a Director.

We prioritize applicants who can work the full summer, but sometimes partial-session positions are available. Let us know your situation. We’ll review on a case-by-case basis.

We understand that milestones matter. If you have a graduation during Staff Week, we’ll support you in attending those events, but you’ll be expected to participate in all other orientation sessions.
 

For family celebrations (weddings, bar/bat mitzvahs, etc.), coordinate with a Director well in advance. One-day events typically count as your day off. Longer absences must be pre-approved.

Three per session (one per week), each lasting 24 hours.
Requests are submitted at the start of each session, and assignments are finalized by the Directors. Note: No days off from Friday afternoon through Sunday morning, due to Shabbat.
 

Yes. One hour each day, plus downtime after campers go to bed (if you’re not on duty).
 

Yes. You can leave during your hour off. Just sign out and back in. Be back 10 minutes before your next activity begins.

No. Our campus is closed at night. Staff may not leave after hours, but evening snacks, hangouts, and staff-only activities are available. If you have an emergency and must leave, contact a Director for approval.

Yes. Cabin counselors live in the same cabin area as campers. Each person has a bed and personal storage space. Make it your own while staying connected to your cabin community!

Yes. If you live nearby, you’re welcome to go home on your day off. Just plan around traffic to ensure you’re back on time so others can take their days off as scheduled.

Staff are paid on the 1st and 15th of the month. Make sure all your forms are correctly completed and submitted so your pay isn’t delayed. If you have special payment needs, contact a Director to discuss arrangements.

Parking at the Army and Navy Academy is limited. We encourage carpooling whenever possible. If you drive, you’ll register your vehicle during Staff Week and receive a parking sticker (required for the full summer). If you bring a different car later, re-register it. Please park courteously. Spaces are tight!
